Mr. Nilsson is Of Counsel to the firm. He came to Goodell, DeVries, Leech, and Dann, LLP in 2004 after practicing for over 15 years as staff counsel to a national insurance carrier. His practice has included the defense of automobile and general liability negligence cases, including those involving serious injury. Products liability defense represents an area of the law where Mr. Nilsson has considerable experience. He has represented the manufacturers of a wide variety of products, which have included household items, pharmaceuticals, and heavy machinery. Mr. Nilsson has also defended surveyors, engineers and insurance agents in malpractice actions. Earlier in his career, he was engaged in the general practice of law, focusing primarily upon motor vehicle, workers' compensation claims and general tort litigation.
Admitted to all Maryland courts, Mr. Nilsson has tried numerous cases in many jurisdictions throughout Maryland. He has enjoyed an auspicious appellate practice having successfully defended appeals to the Maryland Court of Special Appeals, to the Maryland Court of Appeals, and to the United States Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit.
Local and national clients have included restaurants, petroleum product transportation companies, manufacturers, Fortune 500 companies, real estate management firms (malls/apartments), and Baltimore Inner Harbor attractions.
