Ms. Hutchinson is a partner with the firm. Her practice is concentrated on the representation of individual health care providers, hospitals, health maintenance organizations, and academic medical centers in professional malpractice claims before the Health Claims Arbitration Office of Maryland, the Circuit Courts of Maryland, the United States District Court of Maryland, and the Courts of Appeal of Maryland. Ms Hutchinson is responsible for all phases of case management and trial preparation, including the development of liability and causation issues, pleadings and discovery preparation, communication with medical expert witnesses, the defending and taking of depositions of both fact and expert witnesses, settlement negotiations, and court presentations. Ms. Hutchinson has second chaired HCAO hearings and jury trials in the Circuit Court of Maryland, and has argued before the Court of Special Appeals.
Ms. Hutchinson has also represented the insureds of multiple general liability carriers with an emphasis in personal injury and premises liability. She was responsible for all phases of case management and trial preparation, and second chaired jury trials in the Circuit Courts of Maryland. In addition, Ms. Hutchinson has represented a large multinational manufacturing company in defense of product liability claims. She participated as part of a national counsel team in the coordination and supervision of local counsel, preparation of discovery and pleadings, and the development of expert witness cross-examination materials.
Ms. Hutchinson is a Certified Public Accountant, and prior to becoming a lawyer, she worked for RCA Corporation in Princeton, New Jersey, where she was a Senior Auditor of the Corporate Audit Staff, and for Bristol-Myers Squibb Company in Princeton, New Jersey, where she was Manager of Financial Analysis and Financial Reporting.
